This is rather delayed, but on Saturday, May 21 (we lived!) I went to Dallas, TX for Dallas Comic-Con. Guests included Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Leonard Nimoy (Spock), Stan Lee (Stan Lee), and that guy that Darth Vader choked in a New Hope! Leonard Nimoy gave a presentation in which he told stories of his life, revealed his part in the upcoming Transformers movie, and showcased his wonderful sense of humor. I didn’t get to see Stan Lee’s presentation because it was on Sunday, however. All four mentioned guests did autograph signings. I went to Nimoy’s and Lee’s. Stan Lee’s was, to say in the least, lame. I handed my picture to some big dude who then handed it to Stan. I had to go around behind the big dude where he would then give me the signed photo. However, Nimoy’s was much more open and friendly. He himself took the photo from me and made small talk while he signed. Although I didn’t attend Carrie Fisher’s signing, I was told she seemed quite crazy. Apparently, her hair was all over the place and she hummed creepily nonstop. The booths were pretty cool. You could tell which ones were more professional, though. There were a lot of artists drawing right there. Anyways, it was pretty awesome, and I had a great time. I recommend that you make plans to go to a future one.
- The Geek Adonis-

I recently read the Green Lantern series, Blackest Night. It is relatively new and an amaza-zing comic series. In it, deceased characters from the DC Universe are risen from the grave by Nekron, The Black Hand, and his Black Rings. The Green Lantern Corps must work with with the six other corps to defeat the Black Hand. I highly recommend this series to any comic fans- even if you aren’t a Green Lantern fan, because it has about every character from all of the generations of the DC Universe.

This comic, the first comic to feature Batman is the current world record holder of the world’s most expensive comic. Originally ten cents, this comic was purchased at an auction for $1,075,500! The previous record was set just three days before by Action Comics #1, the first comic featuring Superman, when it sold for 1,000,000. I believe that this finally proves that Batman is much better than Superman.

Stan Lee At Wonder-Con 2010
Stan Lee is going to be a special guest at Wonder-Con 2010. Stan Lee is the creator of the Marvel Universe. Although he is pretty awesome, he is the owner of the comic company that was bought by Disney. So I am excited that such a geek icon will be there, I am at the same time angry with him for closing the deal.
